Shirley Collins
by Shirley Collins
released 4th November

It’s with great pleasure and excitement that we are able to announce ‘Lodestar’,
the new album by England’s legendary and most treasured folk singer Shirley Collins,
her first album in 38 years.
Cyclobe’s Stephen Thrower and Ossian Brown recorded 'Lodestar' in Shirley's home
in East Sussex and worked on pre-production for the album.
Ossian also performs on Lodestar and contributed an original piece,
‘The Split Ash Tree’, for which he was joined by
Cyclobe member Michael J York playing English half long pipes.
It was a great honour to be a part of this wonderful project, working closely with Shirley,
her musical collaborator Ian Kearey (the album’s producer),
and many other wonderful musicians.
Lodestar is a collection of English, American and Cajun songs dating from the 16th Century to the 1950s.
A uniquely haunting, intensely moving and joyful work.
